About Buck&Hide: the maker and the mission.

Hi, I’m Jamie. I’m originally from picturesque North Devon, now based in Warwickshire, and I’ve spent my career working in creative industries in the UK and overseas. I'm guided by a love of design, quality materials and traditional craftsmanship.

Every piece in this shop is handmade by me from start to finish using vegetable-tanned leather. This time-honoured tanning process produces leather with depth, character, and longevity. It has a rich natural scent, feels exceptional in the hand, and develops a distinctive patina over the years. Most of the leathers I use come from craft tanneries in Italy, some are from the USA. I never buy in ready-made pieces to resell but I see it happen a lot!

My designs are deliberately clean and understated, inspired by classic British utility and a focus on function and longevity. I make wallets, cardholders, belts, chains, lanyards and practical fobs that simplify everyday carry and improve with age. 

Because I work with natural materials, no two pieces are exactly alike, and the item you see in the photographs is the exact piece you’ll receive unless specified.
