A compact handmade leather snap wallet / purse, crafted from a combination of exceptional Italian leathers.
The exterior and front of the pocket are made from Toscana Shell Cordovan from Tuscany in burgundy, the classic colour for this rare leather. Cordovan comes from a very small part of a horse rear quarters, hence its rarity. It has incredibly dense fibres so is famed for its strength and durability, and has a smooth, glossy finish that is instantly recognisable. This piece features a section of the shell that proudly displays the tannery stamp.
The interior and reverse of the pocket are made from burgundy Buttero, another premium Italian vegetable-tanned leather, chosen for its refined matte finish and excellent structure.
Measuring approximately 11×8 cm, the wallet is compact yet surprisingly spacious. It comfortably holds multiple cards and folded notes up to 75mm tall, making it ideal for streamlined everyday carry.
Finished with Japanese solid brass Hasi-Hato snaps and hand saddle-stitched using burgundy Xiange thread, this wallet is designed to age beautifully and improve with use.
