A Japanese-style 'short' wallet made using Badalassi Carlo Wax veg-tan leather in olive green. The Wax is a pull up leather stuffed with oils so it changes colour slightly in areas that are stressed. It's full of natural characteristics giving it a rugged appearance that will patina beautifully. For the outer part of the press snap I've used a modified vintage Japanese coin dating from 1907-1917. It's a 10 sen 'Asahi' coin which is 80% silver (20% copper) so has inherent value. The wallet is saddle-stitched together by hand (no machines!) using olive green waxed Vinymo thread from Japan. All edges are burnished and waxed for a smooth, durable finish.
The design is practical & distinctive with 2 card pockets on the each side that will each hold a couple of cards from new (more with use), and a hidden card pocket behind this. At the back is a spacious full-width pocket for bank notes, receipts etc. Overall, a spacious wallet with unique Japanese styling.
